CBD Effects – How Long Do the Effects of CBD Oil Last?

With CBD being a relatively new idea, people raise several questions about CBD consumption and its effects on the human body.  CBD effects are a substantial concern for new CBD users as they don’t know much about the product as studies are still being conducted. Most people want to know more about CBD before deciding on trying CBD as a treatment. This article helps inform you about the following:

  • What effect will I experience with CBD?
  • What are the negative effects that you’ll experience with CBD?
  • What factors affect the duration CBD stays in your system?
  • Should you take CBD while breastfeeding?
  • What will be the result of your drug-test while consuming CBD?

After reading this article, you should feel more confident about understanding the effects of CBD.

Let’s begin!

CBD Effects That You Can Feel

When you consume CBD you’ll feel some changes in your body and mind after some time.

For example:

  • You canl feel a calm helping to lower anxiety
  • You will feel less muscle aches and pains
  • Your thoughts become slightly clear and more focused
  • You’ll feel no stress on your nerves
  • Some feelings of happiness and calm
  • If you take at night, you can have better sleep

All the above effects show that your CBD dosage is working at full potential. If you do not feel the effects, you should increase the potency of your CBD intake, find a more quality CBD product, or consult your doctor to learn more.

CBD Effects That Can Be Negative

CBD consumption also brings some side effects; however, every person may or may not experience these negative effects.

You can potentially experience:

  • Fatigue if you take CBD during the day
  • Diarrhea
  • Dry mouth
  • Drowsiness
  • Lightheadedness

It’s possible that you’ll experience minor side effects, however, most CBD users report zero negative side effects.

How Long CBD Stays in Your System?

CBD content stays in your system on average for 2 to 5 days. However, several factors affect the length of time including CBD quality, how often you use CBD, and the amount you take daily.  Learn more about it here:

How much CBD are you using?

The quantity of CBD intake affects its duration in your system. A lower dose of CBD  will exit your body more rapidly. On the other hand, a high dosage can remain in your system for longer. For example, 10 mg CBD content can stay in your system for one or two days but 150 mg CBD content can stay for 5 or more days or more.

The frequency of your CBD intake

If you are using CBD occasionally, your system will clean itself from CBD sooner. However, taking CBD regularly can store it in your body fat until it reaches the endocannabinoid system. As a result, CBD can remain in your body for a longer time, even for 2 to 4 weeks.

The nature of your body

CBD storage in your body depends upon the nature of your body. If you have more fats in your system, CBD can store itself for later use. On the other hand, the endocannabinoid system can rapidly consume CBD so if you have lower body fat, CBD won’t stay in your system very long.

When do you take CBD

Taking CBD at certain times of the day can affect how long it stays in your system.  If you take CBD before a meal, it will metabolize and exit your system faster.  If you use CBD after eating, it will stay in your system for a longer period of time.

How do you consume CBD?

CBD has so many different products in today’s market.  The way you consume your CBD can also determine how long it stays in your system.  Using a CBD tincture usually contains a higher dosage and enters your bloodstream faster.  As a potent product, it will enter your system quicker and stay longer.  Using a capsule or gummy takes longer to enter your bloodstream as it has to dissolve.  Often these products are lower doses so they won’t stay in your system as long.

Can you feel the effects of CBD right away?

It will depend upon the method of consumption.

If you use tinctures or vaping, you’ll feel CBD effects in less than 5 minutes. On the other hand, if you are using edible CBD products, you’ll have to wait a little longer to feel the full effects of the CBD working.  Using CBD consistently is essential into feeling positive effects on your body.  You can use CBD one time and expect it to work right away.

How Long Can You Feel the Effects of CBD?

It depends upon how soon your endocannabinoid system takes CBD content from your bloodstream.  Everybody is different and has unique experiences with CBD.  Different products, dosages, and consistency of use all affect how CBD works for you.  However, CBD effects last a minimum of two hours and usually more if you use it consistently with the correct dosage for you. A higher dosage of CBD can make you feel the effects for a longer period of time.

What Will The Rests of a Drug Test be after using CBD?

The results of the drug-test depend upon the nature of the CBD product.

  • Full-spectrum CBD products have THC content in them.   However, they have to have less than 0.03% THC to be legal.  With such a small trace of THC, your drug test will almost always be negative.
  • Broad-spectrum CBD products have zero-THC content. With third party testing lab results, you will be able to see the 0.00% THC in each product to ensure your drug test will be negative.
  • CBD isolate products have only CBD.  All other compounds have been extracted so your drug test would be negative for THC.

If you are worried about a potential positive test when using CBD, make sure you use a broad spectrum product.  When researching which brand to use, make sure they provide third party lab testing so you can confirm that your product has zero THC.

Breastfeeding and CBD Consumption

There is minimal research showing evidence of the effects of CBD on breast milk. However, all doctors suggest never take CBD while breastfeeding or being pregnant unless using a broad spectrum CBD product. The reason behind it is CBD products can contain THC content that isn’t recommended for pregnancy.

If you are pregnant, we recommend talking to your doctor before using a broad spectrum product.
